Now we have a wooden deck all around the house!! Took only 2 years. Now some tiny walls to build and buy some plants and we are done for a while.

Midsommar in Skärhamn. During the afternoon walk (too much food as usual) we saw this and realized it was time to go home again.

The deck is finally done. Now some lights around the decking, add some green between the deck and the retaining wall, put some grass on the sandy area and it will look a thousand times better than last week. The question is ready-grass-on-rolls or sow it from seeds?

We are axtending the wall all the way to the corner of our plot. Last year we stopped about 4 meters short. But now we decided it looked stupid and pulled it all the way. Brick-layering is hopefully happening this weekend if the weather permits it.

Parts of the deck are removed on the back and we are going to put a smaller deck along the rest of the wall. The trampoline is gone as well now. Gave it for free, which saved us a trip to the scrapyard and made some kids happy.

And on the front of the house we are without grass at the moment!! Not that it resembled anything like grass with all the weed in it. But it will be back in the near future. But we had to level it out as well, cause mowing the lawn was a bumpy ride.

And a new deck will be built. We realised that this side of house is out of the wind most of the time. And….. it’s a nice sunny place to eat your breakfast. And we are still debating between a wooden fence towards the neighbour or a green one with a pergola over the deck. To be continued ….

Look like this, when otherwise packed with people. Yes, Sweden is in lock-down too during this COVID-19, even when others say we’re not. It’s more about following guidelines instead of being forced. It’s your own choice, so I think people are more compliant.

Iwas actually working on the deck. We replaced the main part, so there is some new wood. Then this year I started on putting the glass back in place. And this is the result so far. Next step is the make the grass connect to the deck a bit nicer with a stone or so.

Now afterwards I see I should have taken the whole stethoscope in view. But I’ll leave it up here anyway, just as a reminder. One weekend you are out riding bikes with friends and the next you’re in a hospital.

A total make-over from what it was when we bought the house. I should actually try to find one to compare.

But half a deck to fill the other half with gravel and have a trampoline. When the kids are bored of it in a couple of years (or months), we’ll have to figure out what to do with it. My idea is to build a fire pit, so we can sit there in the evenings and have a drink or so. But there is some convincing to do first.

PS: Yip, I am standing in another neighbors garden again.
