New lights and iPhone

The old lights for the bike where done. Just went black during one of the rides home. Luckily I knew where I was and it wasn’t in the middle of the forest!!! So I had to go and buy something new. I had my eyes on some Gloworm lights, which get really good reviews. But the problem is that they are expensive and…. I need them NOW! Not in a few weeks.

So off I went to the local shop and got me some good old Magicshines again. Only this time I decided to go for the best and brightest they had. Behold … 6500 lumen. Of course you have to take that with a grain of salt. And how long do they last? But so far so good on the first couple of rides. A lot more light in the forest, which makes a lot of difference.

Luckily I passed by here a few hundred times and know my way around.

What a Friday evening can look like. Waiting in the car for the oldest kid and her friends at Liseberg (amusement park in the city). When you are tired and just want to be in the sofa watching TV. But better get them safely home then sorry.

Milla had a plan to go with her friends. So Zeb wanted as well. The only thing was that after a while he realised it was not at much fun as he thought to walk around with mon and dad when he met friends who were running around on their own. So…. I ended up getting back home to pick up one of his friends.

We had to go back

Last one for the season in Vallåsen Bikepark. Next weekend is their last one before they close the bikepark and wait until they can open for skiing. But I think it will be a bit tii crowded for us. Even this Sunday was a bit much. Queuing every time we came down. Just 5 min. but still….

And…. the little man is making progress!!! Stuff he thought was a bit scary last time, is just fun this time around. Proud father moment right there.

Enough iPhone already

Dusted off the Nikon D300 and realised that I missed it. Don’t get me wrong, a mobile with an OK camera is more mobile. But you can’t compare quality and range… Now I think there is some dirt on the lenses and what not. As I said, it has been collecting a lot of dust the last few years. Gonna have to get this sorted.

The reason for all this is that we are almost done with the new house after 2 years now, the kids are getting older, …. So there is a bit more time opening up again. And I always get back to photography and MTB for some reason. My MTB needs are already pleased ever day thanks to my commuting. So photography left. And like they say…

A picture says more than a thousand words.

The amazing thing of biking to work through a forest is that it is a living thing. It’s changing all the time. Even the dead things. Moss starts growing, insects move in, …

The problem is that you need to take the time to see it. Stop once and a while, not just always rush through. That is one the big problems with our society. The high speed pace. We miss so much right in front of us.

Town can be beautiful when it looks like this. No funny smells like in summertime. No rain today, just the sun peaking out and about so you get that nice warm late summer feeling with all the golden leaves flying around.

The kids are playing Pokemon Go again. Don’t ask me why, they all just started all of a sudden. So…. there came the question of going for a hunt in town. “Loads of pokemons out there, dad.”

Last week…. The boys and I drove down to Austria. To go riding our MTBs. The.Best.Thing.Ever!!!!

This is your typical shot of the day. Mountains looming in the distance all around you. Gondolas to get quickly to the top and just all day long riding down.

It’s gonna be a nice autumn
