I just have to get out and bike a bit every now and then to not go insane. It’s been 2,5 weeks now since I have been in the office. First week I was sick in bed myself, but now I have been working from home for the last 1,5 weeks. And I’m wondering when it will end.
And so it began again. The pre-season has started and the first training game is over and done.
The photo on the other hand is a bit misleading. All sunny and blue skies, but it was really windy and
chilly. There was a storm brewing since Friday afternoon. This was taken on the Saturday afternoon,
but at the time we left home, it was pooring down hail!!! And about 20 minutes after this photo it was
dark, raining and a new hailstorm. The game even got stopped for a few minutes and the girls could
shelter from the rain.
Eventually we just had to harden it out in wind and weather. The game ended in a justified 2-2 score.
Everybody was happy and tired, so the rest of the day was spent in a sofa…
It’s part of the commuting life. You could turn in your bike to a bike shop and
pay for it. But the bikes get abused so much during the dark time of the year
by rain, mud, snow and ice.
The problem is that I don’t know all this stuff. But….. that’s where youtube
comes in handy. 20 years ago you had to go as an apprentice during the weekends
to learn all this. Now it’s all a click away. Some favorites:
Out with Da Boyz. Getting dirty and wet in the local mud. Testing the limits a bit of what one (at this age) can do on a
mountainbike. Followed by food and drinks at G-man’s place. Such a nice way to spend a day in good company.
The chaos from last weekend. The drawers from the closet were chafing the frame. Looking at it, I realized that we could move the whole frame about 3mm to the right, which would solve our problem. The only thing is that it was impossible to move the frame with everything in it. I ended up dismantling half of the frame to be able to move it. Hence …
