The deck is finally done. Now some lights around the decking, add some green between the deck and the retaining wall, put some grass on the sandy area and it will look a thousand times better than last week. The question is ready-grass-on-rolls or sow it from seeds?
We are axtending the wall all the way to the corner of our plot. Last year we stopped about 4 meters short. But now we decided it looked stupid and pulled it all the way. Brick-layering is hopefully happening this weekend if the weather permits it.
Parts of the deck are removed on the back and we are going to put a smaller deck along the rest of the wall. The trampoline is gone as well now. Gave it for free, which saved us a trip to the scrapyard and made some kids happy.
And on the front of the house we are without grass at the moment!! Not that it resembled anything like grass with all the weed in it. But it will be back in the near future. But we had to level it out as well, cause mowing the lawn was a bumpy ride.
And a new deck will be built. We realised that this side of house is out of the wind most of the time. And….. it’s a nice sunny place to eat your breakfast. And we are still debating between a wooden fence towards the neighbour or a green one with a pergola over the deck. To be continued ….
A total make-over from what it was when we bought the house. I should actually try to find one to compare.
But half a deck to fill the other half with gravel and have a trampoline. When the kids are bored of it in a couple of years (or months), we’ll have to figure out what to do with it. My idea is to build a fire pit, so we can sit there in the evenings and have a drink or so. But there is some convincing to do first.
PS: Yip, I am standing in another neighbors garden again.
This is what it looks like now. The idea is to maybe replace the windows on the right this summer. 3 Windows and a door it will be. Probably a door that has glass all the way down to the floor. We’ll see. If the COVID-19 is still around and keeping us in Sweden, then this will be an option. Otherwise we might jump in the car and do some road tripping.
A long Easter weekend and the sun is out, so we decided to rent a container and have a go at the dirt mountain in the front of the garden. We filled the whole thing (about 7m3) and moved just over half of what we have. so I guess next Friday, there will be an empty container again on the drive way.
