Parallel universes
I read this today at Kottke:
Playing on a moving subway train adds an extra level of difficulty to accelerometer-based iPhone games. Not only do you have to contend with the in-game physics, you also need to compensate for the real-life accelerations, twists, and turns of the train. The effect pretty much tears your brain in half.
Which seems very intersting, and means that I have to get a decent game for the iPhone and ride the tram to work one day.
Duke Ellington and John Coltrane – In a Sentimental Mood
That has been a while since I wrote about some music here. Sickness and clients were I cannot use my usual software to listen to music prevented that.
And I don’t listen to music enough at home, maybe because there is no real setup that works at home. But we are working on that. We realised that we don’t have a radio in the kitchen (where we spend quite some time). There is the surround system in the livingroom where we can play radio, cd’s, …. But that sound doesn’t reach the kitchen. So we looked at buying a “micro-system” with a radio-cd combo and 2 small speakers. If you want one that produces some OK sound, you’ll have to put down around 2000,- Sek. iPod/iPhone connector built in this is.
But then again, we use the interweb to listen to music these days. I listen to Studio Brussel, Linda has some swedish channels. And then we have Spotify. The software we use the most. Why ? Because they have it all. So…. how do we solve this problem then ? Well…. I’ll try to find an old portable PC at work that I can relieve them off for a few coins, and we buy some speakers. I have my eyes on the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II. The other problem we solve with this setup is that we have a PC in the kitchen to look up some recipes. Which we also did frequently when we had the iMac in the kitchen. I’ll update you when this happens.
So, what have I been listening to lately ? No CD really stands out actually from last week. But there is one track I found and have been playing almost non-stop it feels.
Enjoy !
Too much and too little
So much stuff in my head, but so little time to write things down. Mainly because work is killing me. And then you get home, eat, play with the kids, clean up when they are in bed. After that it is basically to bed myself.
The reason for going early to bed is that Zeb is still not 100% OK. So he waked up about a zillion times, meaning I have to run to his room a zillion times. Don’t think it makes me physically fitter, I’m just getting more and more tired. Last night he woke up around 22:30 and was awake until 0:00. So you think he will sleep all morning, but no…… 04:30 he was awake again and refused to fall asleep. So a short night for us as well.Early again…. too little time…. can we make a day 48 hours long or so ?
